My Rating: 3 of 5 stars

Synopsis: Life as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined.
Balancing real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business, though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and stalk her in the night.

She’s been warned.
Cadan, a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes , the revelations about those closest to her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy everything—including herself.

She’ll be betrayed.
Treachery comes even from those whom she loves, and Ellie is broken by the deaths of those who stood beside her in this Heavenly war. Still, she must find a way to save the world, herself, and her love for Will. If she fails, there will be hell to pay.

My Review: So after reading Angelfire I'm not sure what went through my mind when I decided I wanted to continue the series. I was not a fan of the first book but I still decided to read this.

I'm so glad I did.

You see in Angelfire Ellie was practically helpless even though she was supposedly this powerful ancient warrior. That's what made me hate her. I still kind of do but not as much because she still needs to be saved half the time but the other half she's actually standing up for herself. But she's only standing up for herself after she drops her weapons a couple times and gets smacked around a little and sees Will get hurt. But it's a start!

There's also Will. Ah Will. Honestly I think I only read these books for Will because I really don't care about what happens to Ellie. If Will dies I then there will be some problems because Will is the BEST character in that book. Oh and then there's Cadan. I like Cadan too but I really don't understand why he likes Ellie. They really don't know each other that well but it seems like everyone likes Ellie without a reason except for Ava.

My problem with this book was Ellie. For the first half of the book all she worries about was Will liking her and him not liking her. I mean the first few parts about this were ok but after that it just got annoying.

The good news: This book was loads better than Angelfire it seemed like the first book was a sort of prologue to this book because honestly this is what the first book should have been.

So even though I didn't like the first book I enjoyed this one and I'm going to read the third book but it's not going to be high on my to-read list.
