My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis: What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic’s wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic’s highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

My Review: So when I first heard about this book I had no interest in reading it. I'm not even sure why because I didn't even know what it was about. I think it might have been the title Legend. Now that I've read the book I love the title but before it reminded me of the movie I Am Legend and I was not a fan of that one. So once again I judged a book before I even read it.

June Iparis is the Republic's golden girl. She scored a perfect 1500 on the Trial. This is completely unheard of so June gets to go to college and graduate earlier than everyone else her age. She's also from a wealthy family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts.
Day is the Republic's most wanted criminal at the age of fifteen. He's also from a poor part of the Republic.
When Day is escaping from his latest crime June's brother Metias is killed and Day becomes the number one suspect. June is out for revenge while Day is just trying to help his family survive. But soon shocking truths are uncovered about the Republic and June isn't sure if she's made the right decision anymore.

If you're looking for a book with nonstop action then look no further because Legend is one fast paced thrill ride. I don't think I was bored once.

Marie Lu created an amazing dystopian world where there is a Republic and the Colonies and also the mysterious Patriots. The United States is split between the Republic and the Colonies and the two are at war with each other.

Day and June are two very gifted characters. I think my only problem with this book is the fact that in the beginning Day falls two and a half stories and yet he's still able to escape. Doesn't seem really possible to me but it didn't really take away from the story.

Can't wait until Prodigy comes out!

    3. Yeah it seems like I'm doing so much waiting for books. The cover is pretty cool.
It also seems like the more you want a book the farther away the release date seems.

    6. honestly, I plan to expect alot of surprises. ALso I don't think Day and JUne will be together for too long, maybe but I'm not sure. Maybe another guy will cut in the book, do I smell love triangle? Not sure what will happen to the government :)

    7. Oh I hope there isn't a love triangle! I feel like it will be like Insurgent with Day and June fighting with each other. Hope it can live up to the first one because second books in a series sometimes just don't live up to the first.

    8. agreed, that always happens in trilogies. But I have really high hopes for this one! :)

    9. Yeah that's why I'm worried because when I have high expectations most of the time the book doesn't live up to them.
