#1 - Love lines

The story begins with a strange dream, which has been torturing Eileen for nights. Trying to find out its hidden meaning she leans on her best friend Amanda for help. The two of them go to a fortune-teller, who predicts changes in Eileen's life.

Eileen and Amanda, whose family is one of the seven founders of Dever, go there to start new life and get education. Coming to the university Eileen meets Christian, Amanda's brother, whom she falls in love with from the very first sight. But, as it turns out later, Christian is in love with her too.

They couldn't even imagine that many years ago their lives were bound by magical spells. But now they have to find out why...

My Review: Its at times like this that I wish I had half stars because honestly this book deserves 2.5 stars. You see I struggled with this book but it had a good story going. It just needs some work.

I just had so much trouble starting this book. First of all there were many mistakes and sentences that just didn't make any sense to me. It gave me a headache trying to figure out what the character was trying to say or what was going on. It was very hard to keep track of all the characters. There seemed to be more and more each page but I just couldn't seem to remember who some of them were.

I also just couldn't connect to any of the characters. The way they spoke sounded forced and unlike any teenager I've ever met. Eileen and Christian's relationship bothered me the most. She barely knew him and she was perfectly fine with being bonded to him. If someone I barely knew was bonded to me and could feel all my emotions then I'd probably run far far away. There's no way I'd ever want someone close to my mind unless I actually knew them and they knew me.

There was also the little detail about Eileen and Christian having tattoos on their backs and never noticing it. How can you not notice that you have a tattoo on your back? Just wondering.I'm also a little bit confused about Eileen and Christian because aren't they relatives? Eileen's real last name is Fairey and Christian's last name is Fairey...could they be like distant cousins? That would be really strange.

The part of the book that I actually really enjoyed was the ending. I never really felt that the villain was really a threat until the end because he wasn't really in the book that much. Actually Eric is my favorite character because I find him one of the most interesting characters. Evan is probably my second favorite character because at times he could be very funny and I found his interactions with Amanda hilarious.

So I think that this book just wasn't for me. I'm not really into love at first sight. I like reading about characters falling in love. So if you are a fan of love at first sight then I'd say read this. The book does have potential. It has a good story line going for it and great ideas it just needs some editing.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

  1. Aw, but the cover was so pretty :( Is this self-published because those books tend to have spelling errors if they are not made carefully.

    1. Yeah I believe it is self-published but that shouldn't be an excuse. It wasn't just spelling either.

      The cover is really pretty!
