Feature & Follow #14

Feature and Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community.

Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?

A: Insta love. I can't deal with it. I like to see the characters falling in love. I don't like most love triangles but as long as they aren't the main focus of the book and they are done well I can deal with them. But what really gets me is when the main character can't figure out something and I figured it out within the first couple pages and when the main character is completely helpless.

What about you?
Please follow and leave a link to your post so I can follow back!

  5. I don't mind love triangles as long as their written well and are realistic. If they bring something to the plot and help with characterisation then I don't mind them but sometimes a love triangle can be so frustrating!

  6. Insta-love is so frustrating! It makes me want to punch the characters for being such a cliche.

  7. I dont mind insta love so much in paranormal bc the author can pawn it off as a mating situation or life and death situations. But in CR and HR not so much.

    1. I guess that could work. I would still prefer no insta love though.

  8. Hi Erika,

I like to see the characters going through some tough times and growing together, so you can feel their stuggles and connection... Great post! I've just followed you :)
